Stratford Parks has lots of fun, action-packed activities to get stuck in to, making it the perfect location for a family to explore. Here are the different ways which you can explore Stratford Parks and the surrounding areas…
Paddleboarding
One of the most popular activities at Stratford Parks is stand-up paddleboarding. Stratford Parks is one of the few holiday parks in the region that offers direct access to the River Avon, allowing you to bring your own gear or hire on site. For complete beginners, fully qualified instructors will help you get your balance, build your confidence, and make the most of your time on the water. Accommodation Match: Riverfront Cottages
After a scenic paddleboarding session, simply hop off the river and relax in one of our riverside cottages. These come with your own private fishing moorings, should you wish to relax and cast a line without leaving your garden. Fishing not your thing? Then simply take a sip from your favourite beverage whilst watching the river drift past. Bliss!
Fishing
Fishing at Stratford offers a serene experience for anglers. The park provides access to the River Avon, where you can enjoy fishing from various locations, including the Riverside Venue Bar and Restaurant. Free fishing at set times is available throughout the year, with the only requirement being a rod license.
Accommodation Match: Riverside Lodges
Our stylish lodges offer a luxurious, contemporary environment perfectly placed next to the River Avon for fishing. Featuring stylish interiors and ample space to relax, our lodges boast large outdoor areas perfect for entertaining family and friends.
Choose between Riverside Lodges or Riverfront Lodges, where you can unwind while watching all the beautiful wildlife on the river. Each accommodation includes 2 or 3 bedrooms, an open-plan lounge, dining room, and fully fitted modern kitchen. On the decking, you’ll find a table, chairs, and BBQ for al-fresco dining, along with a patio umbrella for shade on sunny days. All lodges come with a private parking bay and outdoor seating; some are also dog-friendly.
Nestled at our riverside park, enjoy scenic walks along the river and visit our Riverside Venue featuring a Restaurant, Bar, and Dining facilities. Kids will find plenty to enjoy with our children’s play park, mini-golf, and more.
Cycling
If you’d like to travel into Stratford-Upon-Avon on land, simply hire a bike on-site. The local area boasts a range of scenic cycle routes that cater to all abilities, from gentle riverside rides into town to more challenging trails through the Warwickshire countryside.
Cycling is the ideal way to avoid traffic and explore the iconic town of Stratford-upon-Avon. Visit the birthplace of William Shakespeare, cycle along the river to the church where he is buried, and stop off at a café (or even for an ice cream) on the way. If you’re feeling more adventurous, follow the Greenway all the way to Long Marston (look out for the old rail tracks) or try the canal for adventures to Wilmcote, Wootton Wawen, and beyond!

For a more tranquil journey into Stratford Upon Avon, hop on the Stratford Parks River Taxi* and gently cruises up the River Avon. After being dropped off right in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, head into town for a bite to head and a wander to the local shops.
