Presthope Grange Residential Park Showcases Vibrant Local Community Spirit At Two Day Event
Presthope Grange, a luxury residential park home development set in a stunning elevated position above the historic market town of Much Wenlock, has celebrated a successful two-day community showcase on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd November.
The event highlighted not only the high quality of the park homes themselves, but also the strong sense of community and local involvement that has developed among residents.
Presthope Grange was honoured to welcome several respected local figures and community representatives across the two days. Councillor Dan Thomas, the Mayor of Much Wenlock and the Chair of the Town Council’s Planning and Environment Committee, attended the event along with his young daughter, Penny, who quickly became a favourite with residents and visitors.
Also in attendance was Trudi M Barrett, the Town Clerk of Much Wenlock Town Council, who visited with her husband to see first-hand the standard of homes and lifestyle on offer at Presthope Grange.
The event also welcomed Brian Norris from the Much Wenlock Community First Responders, who is himself a resident at Presthope Grange. Brian’s dual role as both a local volunteer and a homeowner at the park perfectly illustrates how residents are actively contributing to the safety and wellbeing of the wider area.
Jim from Age UK Shropshire Telford and Wrekin attended and was particularly struck by the quality of the homes. Having never previously seen inside a modern park home, he commented on how impressed he was by the spacious layouts, finishes and overall standard, challenging many of the outdated perceptions some people still hold about park home living.
Adding a special festive atmosphere to the event, resident and local author Laurelle performed live during the event. Playing her harp and singing Christmas carols, Laurelle created a warm, welcoming and seasonal atmosphere that was enjoyed by residents, guests and prospective customers alike.
The event also proudly showcased local Much Wenlock businesses, with A Ryan and Son Ltd, the famous Much Wenlock butchers, supplying a delicious selection of food, and Colours Florists Much Wenlock, providing beautiful floral arrangements that dressed the show homes.
One of the most powerful aspects of the event was the opportunity for visitors to hear directly from existing residents about their experiences of life at Presthope Grange. Many residents shared how moving to the park has given them a peaceful, secure environment away from the pressures of city life, allowed them to downsize without compromising on quality or comfort, helped them build new friendships and encouraged them to get more involved in local activities and volunteering.
Guests heard stories of residents who now regularly support local groups and initiatives, including Wenlock Edge National Trust, where residents volunteer and enjoy the surrounding countryside, The Friendly Bus in Broseley, providing vital community transport and support and the Much Wenlock Christmas Fayre, where residents help with preparations and on-the-day activities.
There were also stories of evenings enjoyed together at local pubs and even of residents who, for the first time in their lives, have started using the gym in Church Stretton, something they never imagined doing before moving to Presthope Grange. These real-life stories brought to life what it means to live at Presthope Grange. Not just a change of address, but a genuine change of lifestyle and outlook.
Presthope Grange is more than a collection of high-quality park homes, it is a thriving, supportive community. Residents describe feeling safer, more connected and more active since moving to the development.
“We can proudly say that Presthope Grange has given people escaping from city life a completely new outlook,” said a spokesperson for Presthope Grange.
“They’ve found new friends, a stunning location and a real sense of belonging. Just as importantly, they’ve brought energy, skills and enthusiasm to the beautiful town of Much Wenlock. Our residents don’t just live here, they get involved and look out for each other.
“From volunteering with local groups to supporting community events and charities, they are now very much part of the area. A genuine community spirit has evolved and we are incredibly proud of that.”
