Charitable giving is a wonderful way to give back to those in need, and partnering with a reputable local charity was extremely important to us at Avon Estates. We wanted to make sure every donation goes towards making a real difference in the lives of those who need it most. That’s why we are thrilled to announce our nominated charity, Acorn Children’s Hospice.
Acorn Children’s Hospice provides care, support, fun and laughter for life limited and life threatened babies, children and young people and support for their families.
Acorn provides care in three hospices in Birmingham, the Black Country and the Three Counties, as well as in family homes and communities. Their hospices provide a homely environment where children can take part in a variety of therapeutic and fun activities. They understand that family time is precious when a child’s life is limited and want to support families in any way they can and create lasting memories.
By choosing Acorn Children’s Hospice, we will be fundraising for their charity at each of our events. We also have donation tins at various points on Stratford Park. Donating to Acorn Children’s Hospice can help make a real difference to the lives of the children and families they support. Here are just a few of the ways your donation can help:
Medical care: Acorn Children’s Hospice provides specialist medical care to children with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses. This care is tailored to the needs of each individual child and can make a huge difference in their quality of life.
Family support: Acorn Children’s Hospice recognises that a child’s illness can impact the entire family. That’s why they provide practical and emotional support to parents, siblings, and other family members.
Bereavement support: The hospice offers bereavement support to families, helping them to cope with their loss and providing a safe space for them to grieve.
We are proud to support to Acorn Children’s Hospice, and are delighted that our first fundraising event, our Owners 80s themed opening party raffle raised an incredible £500. Our General Manager, Stuart Austin said, “It was so great to see how many owners took part in our raffle and even better to see how much we raised, we look forward to fundraising further for Acorn Children’s Hospice both at our owners and public events”. Marketing Manager at Avon Estates, Felicity Newsome added, “We’ve been looking to increase our charity work and the first step for this was to nominate our chosen charity. Acorn seemed like the obvious choice as they are locally recognised and the work, they do is incredible. We look forward to supporting them further in the future”.
